Bulloch digs deep to finish at Round 1 UROC Pro-National

Cedar City, Utah – (April 14, 2005) It’s the little things that often keep a team from taking home the trophy. Such was the case for On Track Krawler Team last weekend at the UROC Pro-National Round 1. Throughout the first day of competition, Bulloch raged terror on the same course that Supercrawl III was held on at Rocky Mountain Raceway in Salt Lake City, Utah. After a wild first day of rain and howling cold winds, Bulloch led all Modified Stock competitors with a -5 point total.

All of that changed on Saturday when the Suzuki’s ring and pinion exploded during the steep climb up the Matterhorn obstacle. That coupled with a twisted rear axle; put a stop to all hopes of a podium finish. “We really have been on a roll so far this season and we’ve had a good share of wins and podium finishes,” explained Dean. “However, after the mechanical issues we suffered on Saturday, I felt lucky to finish 4th. We ran the last couple obstacles in two-wheel drive.”

Unfortunately, you can’t break ring and pinions, twist an axle, roll over upside down on an obstacle and still hope to finish well. The team diligently worked on the problem, but discovered they had only one option and that was to send the truck back out on the course in only two-wheel drive. On Track Krawler Team® made it to the finish in the 4th position, which was no small feat considering the breakage on the Suzuki rock rig.

“This man made course had the potential to have some very low scores, but the combination of nasty weather and mud made for an interesting competition,” commented Dean. “But our BFGs were solid through the wet conditions; our PSC Steering components worked well and our Fox Shox were great. This truck is a rolling testimonial for the all the quality products that make it work.”

The On Track Krawler Team® was featured on five different Salt Lake City, Utah regional television stations that included ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and KTSU during the 5-days they were in Salt Lake City. “Its great to have the opportunity to showcase our motor sport to the television audience,” commented Bulloch.

On Track Krawler Team® heads to Round 2 of the UROC Pro-National Series at Firebird Raceway, Phoenix, Arizona on May 12-14, 2005.
